All positions are full-time (40 hours/week) and located in Asheville, NC’s River Arts District.

    We are looking for industrial sewing machine operators to construct home and apparel textile goods. We will train candidates with hand skills or good hand/eye coordination. Comfort with attachments, binders and sergers is a plus!

    Responsibilities:

    • Sew on industrial sewing machines

    • Review technical specifications of product construction details

    • Work with team to move through projects collaboratively

    • Maintain a high standard of quality throughout all operations

    • Maintain neat, orderly work spaces

    Goals:

    • Identify and implement work room efficiencies

    • Understand and participate in company's financial statements, planning, and projections

    Qualifications:

    • Ability to organize work flow and complete tasks accurately

    • Great communication skills

    • Familiarity with industrial sewing and cutting equipment (a plus)

    • Work experience in textile-based company (a plus)

    • Textile knowledge of weave structures, pattern-making and refined sewing skills (a plus)

  • We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Quality Control Specialist to join our sewing production team. This role is responsible for inspecting, preparing, packaging and accounting for finished product inventory. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Receive, inspect, and finished textile product

    • Review each product for outlined quality standards and benchmarks

    • Ensure accurate measurement tolerances of finished product

    • Press, snip and fold product to specifications

    • Visually inspect for spots or irregularities in product

    • Problem solve and communicate rejected product for repair or replacement

    • Accurately pick, pack, and ship customer orders

    • Pack, load, and unload parcels of products safely

    • Organize space to optimize efficiency and accessibility

    • Pack and account for inventory of orders before they leave facility

    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

    • Follow all safety procedures and company policies

    • Collaborate with team members to complete daily tasks and meet deadlines

    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Experience in a production workroom or inspection role a plus

    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

    • Good communication skills and a strong work ethic

  • Production Cutting


    DUTIES

    • Stand at cutting table for the duration of the working shift, less breaks and meetings

    • Make sure work areas and equipment are clean

    • Decide on the correct cutting method for the type of material

    • Prepare the fabric by spreading in flat layers, maintaining grain of fabric, and smoothing out creases

    • Inspect textile products for flaws before cutting

    • Plan for minimal waste

    • Position the pattern on the fabric and marking as necessary

    • Cut materials from pattern according to specifications, using blades, scissors, or electric knives.

    • Set cutting equipment controls to meet cutting specifications.

    • carefully cutting delicate materials by hand

    • Cut as many as 40 layers of fabric at once, if you use a cutting machine

    • Store fabrics to ensure their quality and tidiness 

    • Update inventory stock levels.

    • Inspect cut work to ensure standards are met.

    • Organize and bundle cut pieces to be clearly identifiable and easily processed by sewers

    • Monitor/Assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or the organization to make improvements or take corrective action.

    • Record time in time tracking app to corresponding production order, with accurate tagging to ensure accurate order data for analysis 

    • Be aware of time goals and deadlines

    COMMUNICATION

    • Observe, receive, and otherwise obtain instruction from teammates, pod leaders, and Production Manager.

    • Communicate relevant information to supervisors and teammates about progress, issues, successes and potential improvements related to the work  

    • Notify Facilities Manager of equipment repair or maintenance needs.

    • Participate in company-wide staff meeting, trainings and events

    • Facilitate staff meeting on rotation with a predetermined agenda 

    KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS  REQUIRED:
